Privacy Policy

Overview

WTM? is an iMessage app that helps friend groups make plans. We built it to be as private as possible. We do not sell your data, we do not run ads, and we do not build profiles on you. This policy explains what information the app uses and why.

What we collect

WTM? collects only what it needs to work:

• Your display name, which you set inside the app. This is how your friends see you when you create or RSVP to a move.
• Your location, only when you tap "Find moves near me." It is used to search for venues near you and is never stored on our servers.
• Move data you create: the name, location, date, and RSVP responses from your group. This is stored in your personal iCloud account via CloudKit.
• Your RSVP history, which is used to calculate your rep score. This lives in your iCloud account and is only visible to people in the same circle as you.

iCloud and CloudKit

All your data is stored in Apple's CloudKit, which means it lives in your personal iCloud account. We do not have a separate database. We cannot access your data, and neither can anyone outside your group. Apple's privacy policy governs how iCloud stores your information.

Location

WTM? requests your location only when you ask it to find nearby venues. Your location is sent to Apple's MapKit to search for places near you. If you have WTM? Pro enabled, your general city name (not your exact coordinates) is sent to OpenAI to generate trending suggestions. We never store your location.

OpenAI (WTM? Pro)

If you subscribe to WTM? Pro, the app sends your general city name and chosen vibe category to OpenAI's API to generate venue suggestions. No personal information, account details, or exact location is included in these requests. OpenAI's data handling is governed by their privacy policy.

In-app purchases

WTM? Pro is a monthly subscription processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment information. Apple handles all billing, receipts, and cancellations.

What we do not collect

• We do not collect your phone number, email address, or Apple ID.
• We do not track how you use the app for advertising purposes.
• We do not share any data with third-party advertisers.
• We do not use cookies or web tracking on any WTM? page.

Children

WTM? is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
